What is the Bloomingdale Athletic Club?

The Bloomingdale Athletic Club (BAC) is a 501(c)(3) youth sports organization founded in 1956. Our cheer teams participate in the Bill George Youth Football League (BGYFL). Members of the BAC—including athletes, parents, guardians, coaches, team managers, and other relevant parties—are invited to attend our Board of Directors meetings on the second Tuesday of the month at 8:30 PM from September to November and at 7:30 PM from December to August in the Bloomingdale Village Hall.

How much does registration cost?

The registration fee for cheerleading is $365. The fundraising fee is $150 per family. Registrants receive raffle tickets which may be sold to recoup up to $200. In addition, team managers collect $60 per player to cover homecoming activities, players’ and coaches’ gifts, and other team costs. Competitions may incur additional costs.

What do the registration and fundraising fees cover?

The registration and fundraising fees cover Bloomingdale Park District, BGYFL, competition, property insurance, supplemental injury insurance, and uniform costs.

When and where are uniform pieces issued to my athlete

Your team manager will schedule a uniform distribution. If your athlete is unable to attend the schedule uniform distribution, coordinate with your team manager to schedule a supplemental distribution.

What should I do if my athlete is issued an improper or defective uniform piece?

If your athlete is issued an improper or defective uniform piece, coordinate with your team manager to reissue a proper uniform piece.

What are the levels of competition?

Levels of competition are based on grade level: kindergarten through 8th grade. Cheer teams perform for assigned football teams at pre-season, regular season, and post-season games, except on competition dates.

What is the practice schedule?

Practices convene at Circle Park (163 Fairfield Way, Bloomingdale, IL 60108) or an indoor facility, beginning on August 1st. Practices are 2 or 3 times per week. Your head coach determines practice days.

What is the game schedule?

Home games convene at Circle Park and away games convene at other BGYFL member fields. The BGYFL typically publishes schedules in mid-August, with games beginning in late-August. Teams play a game per week, on Saturdays or Sundays, for 8 or 9 weeks, not including playoffs. The season ends by mid-November, depending on playoff performance. Your team manager will communicate the schedule.

What is the competition schedule?

Competitions begin in October and end in December. Your team manager will communicate the schedule.

How can I help?

Parents and guardians of registered athletes are de facto members of the BAC Booster Club. Your head coach and team manager will communicate volunteer opportunities, including concessions and merchandising, and photography and videography.
